Shri Sanathana Dharma Aalayam, Jakarta

A Landmark of Hindu Faith, Culture, and Unity in Indonesia

Honoring a Sacred Heritage

While Indonesia is renowned as the world’s largest Muslim-majority country, it is also home to the fourth largest Hindu population globally—a vibrant community with deep roots stretching back to the 2nd century AD. Hinduism’s historical presence is reflected in enduring cultural treasures such as the Borobudur Temple, Arjuna and Horses statues, and Paramanand Temple—all of which are protected and preserved with pride by the Indonesian government.

Recognizing this rich spiritual legacy, Dr. A.S. Kobalen and his dedicated team collaborated closely with the Jakarta government, resulting in the historic allocation of 4,000 square meters of land in the heart of the capital city. This land now houses the magnificent Shri Sanathana Dharma Aalayam—a spiritual, cultural, and community center that stands as a symbol of harmony, devotion, and heritage.
